NETGEAR's WiFi Phone for Skype (SPH101) is the Netgear's first wireless Internet phone that can make free calls to other Skype users anywhere in the world, if you have WiFi access, without a PC. All of your contacts are shown right on the phone's color display so you will know exactly who is online. You can even make calls to ordinary phones using Skype-Out for just pennies a minute and no monthly fees.
All this sounds great and in truth the un-catchily named SPH150 rather lives up to the hype. The lines are clean and the build quality is excellent.
You can access most of skypes features from the handset although a dedicated voicemail access feature is distinctly lacking
The other slight drawback, in common with all other WIFI phones we are aware of, is that the phone has no browser making accesss to many subscription public hotspots impossible. However the phone does support WPA and WEP encryption so these wont be a problem (provided you have the key).
So all in all a great phone is not as mobile as it looks!
